The monastery in Porat
The monastery and the church of the third Franciscan order of St Mary Magdalene in Porat dates from the year 1480. The atrium of this monastery is known for its Glagolitic lapidarium created by the academic Branko Fučić, and consists of copies of the oldest and most significant Croatian Glagolitic inscriptions.
Within the monastery is a museum with numerous exhibits from the past that visualise the religious, cultural and economical presence of the third order Franciscans in these parts.
During the summer months a great number of curious visitors come to the monastery whilst in the evening hours concerts of classical music by renowned Croatian and foreign artists are held in its atrium.
